Baby Prep

In light of having a baby in the next week or so, I think I need this post as much as anyone! Just to reassure myself that I AM READY FOR THIS.. hehe. Here is some of my baby prepping must haves :)

Baby Prep;

A few things I wanted to make sure I had on hand for once babe arrives!

- HMF B; Probiotics for baby to take daily

- Bio-Strath; immune support, multi-vitamin and more!

- Kids & Boron formulas; I love these homeopathics and these were a few I wanted to make sure to have on had so I have when / if needed!

- Tylenol; also just another one I wanted to have on hand ;)

Postpartum Basket;

I made up a basket full of things to use postpartum and to keep close while nursing!

These things include;

- SNACKS; lots of snacks haha (juice boxes, bars, rice krispies, cookies, candies, gum, mints)

- Water; water bottles full of water!

- Breast pads

- Wipes

- Tissues

- Ashwaganda; to take safely if needed ashwaganda is a glandular and adaptogen to help with stress, anxiety, and mood swings.

- Baby Tracker Book; I made up a binder with nursing info, breastfeeding tips and sheets to track all babies necessary things for at least the first month. Each sheet marks out a day to track poops, pees, feeding times/sides, notes, concerns, and tummy time!

- Devotional Book; daily devotional book for moms, I am really excited to read this! I bought one off of amazon, this one is called 'The Better Mom Devotional; Shaping our hearts as we shape our homes" by Ruth Schwenk

I am sure this will become full of other things once it starts getting used but for now I feel ready ;)

Hospital Bag

I must admit, my bag looks a lot fuller than this right now compared to when I took this picture a few weeks ago! haha I went through SO many lists, and then made one big list of what I thought I wanted to have to bring with me. You can see some of the main things in the picture like; change of clothes, diapers, blankets, wipes, clothes for baby, camera, pads, lip chap, mints, gum, candies, tea's, snacks, ect. The last few weeks I have been in and out of the hospital doing some NST (non-stress tests) and just hanging out there made me realize I wanted some other things that I thought I would be ok without. Things like; slippers, and my own pillow and blankets! lol

I have a last minute list of things to grab when the time comes like popsicles and my make-up hehe... but here are a few things I thought were important to me, but not on most lists;

- Birth plan & any other important paper work the nurses or midwives or doula might have given you that you may need

- Water; I don't know about you but my house water is what tastes best, so that what I would rather drink! haha

-  Towels; the hospital does provide you with towels, but apparently they are the tiny scratchy ones. So I am sure having my own fluffy towel and face cloths will be really nice!

-  Comfort; I basically just thought of anything I would want to help me through labour.. This can vary from person to person, based on what comforts you, and also what your hospital provides! I got notes and ideas from my midwives, doula, online and just thinking about what I would want in times of needing comfort. Some of my top things to bring is a birthing ball (most hospitals provide these.. please note they are the same as an exercise ball! However there are different shapes and sizes so check in to make sure they have what you would like. I have a few sizes and will be bringing an extra one), heating pad, my own pillow and blanket, nursing pillow, slippers, shower essentials, lacrosse ball and tens unit. Remember that not everything has to come in with you, there are a few things we are planning on leaving in the car, and then can run out to get them if we feel we end up needing it.

I could write you out an intense list of every single thing that I have packed, but I think its up to each individual! I am sure half of the stuff I won't need, or there will be things I wish I had, but I feel as prepared as I need to be, and thats what counts ;)
